What omnisearch does in the portal
Omnisearch is the search field in the client portal top bar. It finds your domains, hosting services, email mailboxes, invoices, and tickets in one place. It does not search the public Help Center or the storefront catalog—those have their own pages.
Use omnisearch when you know part of a domain name, invoice number, or ticket subject and want to skip hunting through sidebar lists.
Who this guide is for
- Customers with many domains or invoices
- Anyone who remembers a hostname but not which menu holds it
- Support seekers who want the fastest path to an open ticket
Before you start
- Sign in so the portal chrome (including search) is visible.
- Know a fragment of what you need:
example, an invoice number, or a mailbox local-part. - Remember: results are limited to objects on this account.
Step-by-step: search and open a result
- Click the search field. Placeholder text: Search domains, hosting, emails, invoices, tickets.
- Type at least a few characters of the name or number.
- Review matching results grouped by type when shown.
- Select the result to open that domain, hosting service, mailbox, invoice, or ticket.
- If you see No matches for “…”, widen or correct the query, or browse the sidebar list instead.
Keyboard users can focus search when the control is available in the layout; mouse/touch works the same.
What you can find (and what you cannot)
| Usually searchable | Not covered by omnisearch |
|---|---|
| Domain FQDNs | Public TLD price lists |
| Hosting services | Storefront plan comparison |
| Mailbox addresses | Help article full text (use Help Center search) |
| Invoice numbers | Other customers’ data |
| Ticket subjects/numbers | Cart contents on the storefront |
For new purchases, use Domains, Hosting, or Cart—omnisearch only knows provisioned/account objects.
What happens next / how to verify success
- Selecting a result opens the expected detail page (domain overview, invoice, ticket thread, etc.).
- The browser URL reflects a
/client/...path for that object. - A bad query shows the empty message instead of unrelated storefront hits.
Common problems
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| No results for a domain you own | Confirm spelling; open Domains list and filter |
| Invoice missing | It may be brand new—refresh; check Invoices filters Unpaid / Paid |
| Search not visible | You may be on a public page—open Client portal |
| Too many similar names | Type a longer FQDN fragment |
| Ticket not found | It may be closed—open Tickets and filter Closed |
Frequently asked questions
Does omnisearch search DNS record values?
No. Open the domain’s DNS tab to edit records. Omnisearch finds the domain object first.
Is search history stored?
Treat the field like any account UI: do not paste secrets (auth codes, passwords) into search.
Can I search by registrant email?
Use the domain Contacts panel after opening the domain; omnisearch is oriented around product identifiers.
Does language affect search?
Queries match stored names/numbers; UI chrome follows your language setting.

Still need help?
If search never returns a product that appears on an invoice, open a support ticket or Contact with the invoice number.
